1932.
Juan Dueñas Gándara starts the first tannery of the Dueñas’ family
1965.
The second generation of the family gets involved in the business.
1976.
Jaime and Juan Dueñas Corona move to León, Guanajuato.
1983.
Curtidos Futura was born. Tannery dedicated to finished leather chrome tanned.
1994.
Procesos Húmedos de León was born.

The thrid generation of the family gets involved in the business.

Curtidos Futura cares about the Environment and the impact we have on it.
hat’s why we only work with international chemical companies that comply with the REACH regulations on restricted substances, are ISO certified, and are constantly looking for materials that are less harmful to health and the environment.
Our commercial partner Procesos Húmedos de León S.A de C.V., who provides us with all of our tanned leather, is certified by LWG with a gold medal (certificate PRO013) and ISO 9000 2015. In this way, we guarantee to our customers that we are working in the best possible way and demonstrate our commitment to environmental protection.
Leather is a renewable product
Modern leather manufacturing recycles over 270 million cowhides each year. These are a byproduct of the food industry and without the ability of the leather industry to transform them into leather, over 7 million tons would go to landfills with a huge environmental and biological impact. Leather makes a sustainable contribution to a society that needs to consume less, reuse more and recycle everything.
Leather is a durable product
Well-made leather lasts a long time and, unlike most artificial or synthetic materials, it improves with age, acquiring a wear pattern that is unique to the user. In addition, leather products do not need to be replaced as often as products made with other materials, as they have a longer lifespan.
Leather is naturally comfortable
Leather has a “breathability” that allows it to regulate body temperature more easily. It will naturally absorb and hold moisture away from the skin until it can evaporate outward.
Leather products can be repaired
Unlike plastic items, leather can be repaired and requires very little maintenance for life. It can be maintained at home, does not require many resources for washing and drying, and we are increasingly seeing the resurgence of repair services for leather items.
